About

Jacob Badcock is a PhD candidate at University College London. His thesis, provisionally titled 'Whiteness, Technics, and Time’, is supervised by Dr Hanna Hoelling and Dr Ramon Amaro. Jacob's research interests lie in the philosophy of technology, critical race studies, critical ecologies, and contemporary archaeology. Previously, Jacob was Research Associate for Art, Science, and Technology at the University of Wolverhampton. Alongside his studies, Jacob works in secondary education as the Post-16 Officer at Goresbrook Free School in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

 

Jovan Owusu-Nepaul is reading for an MSt in History at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He is interested in social history and in intellectually advancing the cause of the global working classes. He served as the first African and Indo-Caribbean Chair of the Lewisham Deptford Constituency Labour Party from 2020–21, and was the youngest UK Labour Party Chairman at the time. He is proud to continue the work of a long line of antiracist activists in the UK creating a more inclusive and equitable Britain. His activism stretches between London, Cambridge, and Birmingham.
